Meet the Trainers

Meet the Trainers for Special Yoga for Adults: Christine Godwin & Jodie Spiers
Side by side, Christine and Jodie bring over a decade of shared experience as Senior (or advanced which ever is correct) Special Yoga Practitioners and Trainers. Their partnership has shaped and enriched the Special Adults course, continually evolving it in response to the remarkable individuals they have the privilege to teach.
Christine draws deeply from her lived experience supporting her wonderful son Jacob, who has Down syndrome, as well as many other children and adults with additional needs. Her dedication is heartfelt and unwavering. She brings a gentle wisdom and a refined sensitivity to every programme she teaches, from foundational courses to advanced training, offering a perspective that is both grounded and profoundly compassionate.
Jodie brings nearly 15 years of hands-on experience within health and social care, specialising in learning disability and autism. Having worked on the front line with both children and adults, she offers invaluable insight into how Special Yoga can be meaningfully integrated into care settings. Her own journey with mental health challenges has fuelled a strong interest in the intersection of mental health, learning disabilities, and autism, enriching her teaching with empathy, clarity, and real-world understanding.
Together, Christine and Jodie create a learning environment that is warm, knowledgeable, and deeply human with an inspiring blend of professional expertise and lived experience.
