A note from Jyoti

As I sit and write this, I can hear the wind howling and my chimes ringing. I feel grateful for this simple reminder that everything is constantly changing. Nature shows us this every day. The clouds move across the sky, the sun appears and disappears, the wind rises and falls, and I am still here. Breathing. Being. Loving. Returning to presence.
In moments like these, I am reminded that, even when the world around us feels uncertain or unsafe, we can gently practise finding a sense of safety within ourselves.
We hear so much about regulation these days, and with good reason. We are living in a world that often feels dysregulated, where uncertainty and change can leave us feeling unsettled, overwhelmed and unsafe.
I am deeply grateful for my five plus decades of yoga practice. Yoga has taught me to be here, to breathe, to observe my mind rather than be carried away by it, and to return, again and again, to the present moment.
And this, ultimately, is at the heart of what we offer at Special Yoga.
The ability to be present. To listen deeply. To create the conditions for safety and regulation. To meet ourselves and one another with compassion, just as we are, without trying to fix anything or anyone.
Beneath the noise, the uncertainty and the changing circumstances of our lives, there is the possibility of reconnecting with the essence of who we are, our innate wholeness, our inner wisdom and our capacity to love.
I have learned that the practice is not about making the world stand still or trying to control everything around us. It is about learning to be here, to meet each moment as it comes, and to remember the powerful being of love that we are. And that we can bring ourselves into safety inside. From there we are 'being' yoga.
It is the essence of all our teaching, and its particularly the theme for the upcomign level 2 course. If you have taken level one or done a 7 day training with Jyoti in the past, you are elligible to join us, join the beautiful group of committed practitioners to making the world a better place.
