When was the last time someone asked how you were?

If you're caring for a child with additional needs, chances are you're used to putting everyone else first.

Appointments, school meetings, therapies, paperwork, sleepless nights... and somehow finding the energy to keep showing up with love and patience.

People often ask how your child is doing.

Far less often do they ask how you're doing.

At Special Yoga, we know that supporting children starts with supporting the adults who care for them. When you have moments to pause, breathe and reconnect with yourself, it becomes easier to meet the challenges of everyday life with a little more calm, resilience and compassion.

We were so encouraged by the response to our last Calm Together programme that we're delighted to be running it again this September.

One parent shared this after a session:

"Tonight's session was wonderful. I didn't even realise how much I needed it xxx."

If those words resonate with you, perhaps it's a sign that you need this too.

Calm Together is our gentle four-week online programme for parents and carers of children with additional needs. Each week you'll be guided through simple, practical practices to help regulate your nervous system, reduce stress and create moments of calm in the midst of everyday family life.

Our next programme starts on Monday 14 September.

Calm Together

  • Starts: Monday 14 September

  • Time: Mondays, 8:00–9:00 pm (UK)

  • Duration: 4 weeks

My answer has never really changed. Special Yoga is special because we see the person before we see anything else. You are special. Every child is special. Every adult is special. Every nervous system has its own story. And every ...
