As a sun seeker, the end of summer is always an interesting moment for me, as the days slowly become shorter and the weather becomes cooler. And, as always in a time of change, I’m taking a moment to pause, reflect and appreciate all that we have created over the past couple of months, and all that is still to come.

We have been busy behind the scenes filming two new programmes, both of which are now being finalised and will be ready to share with you in the coming weeks.

The first is our Regulation Toolbox for Children, created especially for parents to learn simple, practical ways to support their own regulation and the nervous systems of their children. In these interesting and often overwhelming times, I believe this work is more needed than ever. It is about creating greater safety, co-regulation and connection, while giving you simple practices that can become part of everyday life.

The second is a new suite of Chair Yoga Short Courses, exploring how yoga can be adapted and applied for a range of populations and life stages, including people living with Parkinson’s, dementia, autism and MS. Our intention is always to make yoga available to more people, meeting them exactly where they are and adapting the practice so that it can genuinely support their lives.

We are increasingly focused on what the hospital we worked with earlier this year called “yoga snacks” - short, accessible practices that can be woven into everyday life. For children, busy parents, educators and therapists, and for people and populations who may not otherwise have access to yoga, a few minutes of the right practice can make a meaningful difference when there isn't time or space to roll out a mat and practise for an hour or more. Our Calm together programme for parents supports this.

This month I also travelled to Austria to teach a Foundation/Level 1 training in-person to a beautiful group of practitioners. We shared some truly magical sessions with some very special children. There was deep learning, connection and inner growth, alongside laughter, tears and, of course, some dancing!  Bookings are opening soon to join me in Montreal in April 2027.

To continue to offer in person experiences, I’m really looking forward to our Special Yoga retreat at the end of September. There is something very precious about coming together in person. However much we can learn and connect online, being in the same space, practising together, sharing conversations, laughter and quiet moments creates a depth of connection that is difficult to describe. There is the opportunity to really see one another, to practise together, to be held in the space and to experience those subtle moments of connection and adjustment that happen so naturally when we are physically together.

For me, being together in person is always a reminder that we are not meant to do this alone.

I’m really looking forward to welcoming everyone who joins us.

As we move towards autumn and begin to spend more time indoors, our online courses are starting again, alongside our in-person trainings, and shorter programmes. There are many different ways to come and learn with us, depending on where you are and what you are looking for. You might be a parent wanting simple practices to support yourself and your child, an educator or therapist wanting practical tools to bring into your work, or perhaps you feel called to go deeper and begin or continue your journey as a Special Yoga practitioner.

You might simply be curious and want to experience the practices for yourself, join us for a retreat and immerse yourself in the practice, or take the next step into one of our practitioner pathways and discover where that journey might lead.

There is no right place to begin. There is simply the place that feels right for you now.

Wherever you start, my hope is that you discover not only practical tools, but a different way of being with yourself and with the people you meet. A way rooted in regulation, connection, deep listening, compassion and love.

Come and learn with us. Come and practise with us. Come and discover what Special Yoga might open up for you.

Our intention remains simple: to make the transformative potential of yoga accessible to more special people, in ways that can genuinely become part of everyday life.

With love

What does self-care look like for you?
We all need time to pause, recharge and look after ourselves, but what that looks like is different for everyone. Maybe it's an hour each week to reconnect with your body. Maybe it's finding support and connection with people who understand. Or perhaps it's stepping away from everyday life for a whole weekend. This autumn, we have THREE opportunities to make some space for yourself, and each o...
